- Keyboard Swapper INIT by Mattias Ellert
-
- With this INIT installed, a change of the keyboard layout by typing
- opt-cmd-space or cmd-space, or by using the keyboard menu, only affects
- the current keyboard. If a key on a different keyboard is press, the INIT
- automatically swaps to the script and keyboard layout last used by that
- keyboard. The INIT also enables the keyboard menu on systems with only
- one script installed.
-
- The memory between system start-ups depends on that the ADB Manager assigns
- the same ADB addresses to the different keyboards at every start-up. This
- seems to be the normal case.
-
- At a few rare occasions the ADB Manager initialization fails at start-up
- and two or more keyboards are assigned the same ADB address. If this occurs
- the Keyboard Swapper doesn't work since it depends on unique ADB addresses.
- If something doesn't seem to work right you should check the ADB Manager
- initialization. If it has failed the keyboards share the same buffers and
- the shift key on one keyboard produces capital letters when a key on the
- other keyboard is pressed. This is NOT a bug in Keyboard Swapper but in the
- System, so I can't do anything about it. When this happens (not too often)
- the Keyboard Swapper prefs file gets messed up, so at the next start-up you
- have to set the keyboard layouts for the different keyboards again.
-
- Requires system 7.0 or later.
-
- If you have questions or encounter any problems, please don’t hesitate to
- contact the programmer.
